Dr. Marloin Cummings was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but raised in Aberdeen, Maryland. Growing up as an army dependent afforded him the opportunity to live in a vast amount of places spanning from Aiea, Hawaii, to Anchorage, Alaska. Although the sport of basketball was his first love, he developed a passion for the biological sciences which led him to graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Chemistry. While attaining his requirements for his undergraduate degree, he was encouraged and inspired by several general dentist and orthodontist to pursue his interest in the dental profession due to his ability to build productive relationships and his desire to serve others. Dr. Cummings received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College where his desire to serve others was honored by becoming a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Dental Scholar. The mission of the NHSC is to increase access to primary health care services and reduce health disparities for underserved populations who live in health professional service areas. Dr. Cummings’ commitment to the mission of the NHSC has been both personally and professionally fulfilling. While indulging himself in different NHSC opportunities spanning from Memphis, Tennessee, to Phoenix, Arizona, he uncovered his true passion for serving children. After 14 years of general dentistry experience, Dr. Cummings was extremely humbled to have the opportunity to complete the NYU-Langone Hospitals Pediatric Dentistry Residency program (Tucson, AZ) and he’s ecstatic for the opportunity to give of himself while advocating for the deserving children of the metropolitan Naples area.
One interesting fact about Dr. Cummings is that while growing up as a military dependent, his favorite place that he lived was Anchorage, Alaska. In his free time he enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, traveling, watching new and old movies, and cheering for local professional sports teams.
